Get what you pay for

So here in angmoh-land I've been enjoying broadband internet speeds that are not 'on best-effort basis' nonsense. Here when they say it's 2mbp/s, you get real 2mbp/s.

An average torrent download speed of
200kB/s!!!!!

With what, 20 seeders?!

All that without tweaking the settings, number of connections, port forwarding etc etc. And to think I had given up on Azureus because of Streamyx's stupid bandwidth throttling.

Go cry your heart out Lex.

And that's just torrents. Imagine how fast my Rapidshare downloads are. I can watch YouTube videos without waiting for them to load. And just yesterday I watched live HD streaming of the Wimbledon final from BBC's website.

The best part is, apparently my sister is paying only £2-3 a month for the 2mbp/s connection. That's like, RM15-20??! Compare that to RM140 back home. And apparently, this package is the slowest broadband package on offer.

Sigh. I'm going back in 2 days to my beloved country. Maybe I'll blog more about it and put up more pictures, depending on how long my patience with maybe-not-so-beloved Streamyx Broadband lasts.

1 month and 2 weeks more.

A whole lot of distractions in between.
