Odds and ends
Have been very busy over the past few weeks, baking tray after tray of cookies. Honestly, it does get a little tiring after a while, especially if you're a one-man self-employed baker trying to fulfill your Chinese New Year orders in time. Then again, cookie selling is a very good way of earning some extra pocket money, especially with Valentine's Day, CNY etc all around the same time of the year.
Anyway, here's some interesting stuff I found (from friends' blogs, Youtube, online newspapers etc):
1. The perfect couple - 'nuff said
2. Shape of my heart - a really cool Ambitious Card routine
3. "Allardyce accuses Wenger of waging psychological war on referees" - For all of you who hate Arsene Wenger
*Note: For non-football fans, the following paragraphs may be gibberish to you, so you can stop reading here.
Just mybiased two cents worth on Arsene Wenger; before Mourinho came to the Premiership he was the best excuse-maker around. Even now he tries to make it seem that the press is targeting his side, that we should give his young side time to develop, that refs are always biased against Arsenal blah blah blah. I hope the article above can shed some light on the issue.
In reference to his 'young' side, one forgets the Man Utd side of the 90's which dominated English football. Remember Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, the Nevilles, Nicky Butt and a certain Mr David Beckham? When they won their first title the average age of the Man Utd squad was the same if not younger than the current Arsenal side. All of them were products of Man Utd's youth development program, ie ENGLISH (with the exception of Giggs, who played for England Schoolboys anyway). Compare that to Arsenal - Fabregas? Senderos? Flamini? Eboue? Mr Wenger had to BUY them all from other clubs, his own youth program doesn't seem to be bearing fruit. Even Theo Walcott was bought from Southampton, at a world-record price for a youngster.
You can guess who I'll be rooting for when Bolton play Arsenal tonight.
