Sax man Brecker dies of leukemia
This may be a bit old, couldn't find the time to put it up earlier.
"Renowned jazz artist, a winner of 11 Grammys over his career, had worked with a diverse list of artists that included John Lennon, James Brown, Lou Reed, and Aerosmith." - read the whole story here.
For all you jazz lovers, renowned music critic Mike Zwerin (of Miles Davis' 'Birth of the Cool' fame) wrote an interesting article entitled Brecker's Catchy Saxophone Shaped Jazz History: An Appreciation.
For those of you who don't know, Brecker provided the famous sax licks to James Taylor's Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight and Paul Simon's Still Crazy After All These Years, among others. He also played the sax solo on Diana Krall's rendition of Just The Way You Are from her 'Live in Paris' album. As a very highly-paid sessionman, he is probably on many other records as well.
